While at Mekanism, the NIKE+ Human Race Challenge needed to go viral, and so the customized challenge of the What-cha-doin! experience started. In essence, we engaged Nike+ runners and there friends to participate in the Human Race, either at a hosted race event, or using the Nike+ system.
Our task, create a fictitious UGC site home page, combine 2-D animation and Video to create a digital characture of your computer, and motivate your friends to join you in running the Human Race. We asked some simple questions about running style, and then combine the seven appropriate sections of the custom message. Our insight was that if we animated the lip movements and syllables, then sync the audio at runtime, we had a manageable 5.47+ million permutations.
